Is the Impossible Possible?

What comes to mind when you read Mark 11:22-24?

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Do you think…"interesting scripture; this was for the disciples; Jesus meant something else;” or “I simply don’t believe it.” What about Matthew 19:26,

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

The key question is "Do we believe it?" I don't mean do we believe the word says it, but do we really believe that "with God all things are possible?" Not in an abstract, mystical way. But do we believe that God means this in a practical, everyday sort of way?

I wonder if there are times that we intellectually affirm and give mental assent to this statement but live our lives without an awareness of what our heavenly Father is able to do. I don't minimize the challenges and difficulties that many face today, but I encourage all of us to remember the power and sufficiency of God. I believe He is willing to intervene in our circumstances and meet the needs of His children. Remember, the Bible teaches us that faith is the key to everything. Since this is true, let's choose to have faith and believe that what seems to be impossible in our lives can become possible. Let’s trust Him with the impossible situations in our lives.
